The elections this year have not been fair game: it's been consistently easier by orders of magnitude to make fun of the right-wing, religious conservative candidates because, let's face it, they are the ones to come up with the most outrageous ideas.Another contributing factor, however, and a more serious one, is the inescapable liberal guilt about even remotely sounding offensive or insensitive, especially toward members of historically oppressed minorities, even when the criticisms might have nothing to do with the minority status of the candidate in question. Luckily, Bill Maher is not one of them :)
