When the Moors Ruled in Europe
This very interesting documentary, produced by Australia Network Television, explores the influence of the Muslim empire on European history. It tells the often ignored fact that the Islamic intellectual culture was far ahead of its Christian counterpart in Europe in terms of philosophy, science, mathematics, etc. It also shows that, contrary to current trends, Islam has been traditionally a very tolerant culture, and that this open-mindedness and love of learning significantly contributed to their historical greatness.
By the way, I find more and more that the Australian accent, at least when spoken by educated people, is super sexy... Anyone else with me on that one?
