Mother nature has had millions and billions of years to work out practical problems with very meager budgets and incredibly stringet demands: succeed or perish. Yes, she may be a tough cookie, but the results speak for themselves, and the technology being inspired by biological designs is leading the way to greater efficiency and minimal energy consumption. It's a win-win...Kind of makes you wonder to what extent Leonardo da Vinci's genius derives simply from his ability to observe in better detail than the rest of us, doesn't it?
