After being awaken from his dogmatic slumber by the powerful skepticism of Scottish philosopher David Hume, the German philosopher Immanuel Kant set out to establish a solid foundation upon which metaphysics, science and knowledge could be based. Agree with it or not, the general result, also known as the Copernican Revolution of philosophy, was nothing short of genius.
If you have ever tried to get through The Critique of Pure Reason or the Prolegomena and were instead driven to take up drinking or pulling out your hair, despair no more. The following is not only the most concise explanation of Kant I have ever heard, it's explained as a song and is wicked accurate! Yay for the transcendental unity of apperception! :)
