Decried as sexually depraved by many, and hailed as one of the greatest novels of the 20th century, Lolita has quickly become a classic of world literature. In the following interview, Lionell Trilling discusses the book with Vladimir Nabokov, the man himself. Although the interview seems to have taken place very shortly after the publication of the scandalous work, Trilling quickly recognized its literary genius and argues that Lolita ought to be understood not so much as a book about sex, as many people tend to do, but as an exploration of love.
Hopefully this makes up for the shortage of entries on literature...
