In this very funny and moving TED presentation, famous writer Isabel Allende (niece of former Chilean president Salvador Allende) talks about the best four minutes of her life (which, to his dismay, don't include any intimate moments with her husband), some beauty tips from Sophia Loren, the ongoing struggle and challenges facing feminism, as well as a few true tales of passion and courage exhibited by women from countries where women are systematically neglected, abused and discriminated against. Finally, she makes the excellent point that investing in the education and empowerment of women tends to be one of the most efficient strategies for improving society as a whole.
