That's what Barack Obama's spokesperson said about the finding, reported by the BBC and apparently discovered by Dick Cheney's wife, that polar opposite political figures Dick Cheney and Barack Obama are related: they are eighth cousins, to be specific. Their relatedness can be traced back to a 17th century immigrant from France.I love the ambiguous double meaning: "Every family has a black sheep." Simply genius!
What do you think is more bizarre, Obama and Cheney's relatedness or Strom Thurmond's ancestors owning the enslaved ancestors of Jesse Jackson?

My husband and I actually had an hour and a half long fight on this topic, specifically on whether Cheney is more repulsed by this new information, or vice versa. Though I do think that Strom Thurmond's connection with Jesse Jackson is more outlandish, this new one is hilariously ironic.
