Home, melting home...

I'm not particularly fond of emotional appeals, but there are times when a picture really does say more than a thousand words, like with this picture from the Daily Mail.

Obviously, whoever took this great picture is standing on something.... probably a gigantic glacier hundreds of miles wide, probably some sort of ship, probably a helicopter, probably a pyramid made up of seals happy to see their natural predators in trouble...

The point is that hearing about polar bears being in danger of extinction due to the ocean caps melting is a very different experience than seeing a picture that shows just how big a problem it is to survive when you literally have nothing to stand on...
