Christopher Hitchens - The Never-Ending Party

Death is one of those things we all have to confront at some point. In fact, the 20th century German philosopher Martin Heidegger thought that the very essence of human nature (or Dasein, as he called us) is our being-toward-death.

Obviously, once you're dead, there's nothing for you to care or worry about since there is no longer a you to care or worry about anything, but the contemplation of the prospect of your impending death one fateful day reveals the absurdity of our condition. And believing in some sort of life-after-death is really no consolation either, as the late Christopher Hitchens explains in the following amusing and thought-provoking clip:
