Space: New Worlds

This is the fifth episode of the BBC documentary Space, narrated by Sam Neill, dealing with some of the logistical difficulties that will have to be overcome in order to colonize some other planet when it is no longer possible to survive on Earth, placed in the context of the death of the sun (global warming would be a much more likely candidate, I think...). The overall tone of the video is optimistic (maybe a bit delusional?), but there's still a whole bunch of interesting scientific stuff.

Click on the following links if you missed the previous episodes: Star Stuff, Staying Alive, Black Holes and Are We Alone?. Again, the graphic quality of the videos and visual effects is great.

It is interesting to notice that what is killing us here (global warming and creating a more dense atmosphere) would be essential to our survival in Mars, isn't it?
