The Genius of Mozart: Miracle of Nature

This is the first installment of a documentary about Mozart's life and musical development, narrated by the young conductor Charles Hazlewood. Hazlewood attempts to make sense of Mozart's growing musical genius not merely as innately talented, but as the expression of embodied and passionately felt life experiences, supported by the backbone of Mozart's correspondence with friends and family. Hazlewood's explanations of the structure, color and texture of Mozart's works is truly an eye-opener.

In this first episode we see Mozart's childhood and early promising talent being fostered by his father, Leopold. As Mozart starts growing, however, a tension for independence ensues, and their relationship is forever strained.
