But in reality Zero turns out to be an extremely important, powerful and paradoxical number, with a fascinating intellectual history. To find out why you should totally read the awesome book by Charles Seife, Zero: The Biography of a Dangerous Idea.
.
Another good book is Infinity, by John Barrow, and instead of talking about Zero, as Charles Seife's book does, Barrow disusses the history, implications, and the twisted relationships of infinity throughout history in disciplines such as math, philosophy and even physics. I have read both of these books, and highly recommend each of them.
